Backup power
What size power station do you actually need?
Choose what you want to keep running. We'll work out the size so you don't overpay for capacity you won't use.

Specs come from makers' sites and were checked on November 1, 2026. Anker's figures come from its support page and retailer listings. Stock changes often, and prices move a lot around sale events, so check the current price before you buy.
How to read the specs
Capacity (Wh) is how long it lasts
Divide capacity by what your device draws, then allow for about 15% lost in conversion. A 1,024 Wh unit runs a 100 W TV for around 8 to 9 hours.
Output (W) is what it can run at once
Add up everything that will be on at the same time. Most power stations will shut off if you go over the limit.
Surge is what handles startups
Fridges, pumps and air conditioners pull far more power for a moment when their motors start. That's why a machine that needs 150 W to run may still need a unit with a high surge rating.
Battery type sets the lifespan
LFP (lithium iron phosphate, or LiFePO4) batteries are rated for thousands of cycles. Every model we list with a cycle rating uses this chemistry.
Add solar for longer outages
A folding panel can recharge a power station during the day, and you don't need a roof or a landlord's sign-off. It's also the simple way to use solar where plug-in systems aren't allowed yet, because nothing connects to your home's wiring.
Don't connect a power station to your home's wiring yourself. Whole-circuit backup needs the right transfer equipment and a licensed electrician.
Common questions
Can a portable power station run a refrigerator?
Yes, in most cases. A typical fridge needs well under 200 watts while running, but it can pull over 1,000 watts for a moment at startup, so check the surge rating. A 1,024 Wh unit can often carry a fridge alone for 12 hours or more, depending on the fridge and the room.
Is it safe to use a power station indoors?
Battery power stations don't burn fuel, so they don't produce carbon monoxide the way gas generators do. Follow the maker's instructions and keep them dry and ventilated.
Can I charge a power station with solar panels?
Yes. Every model on this page accepts solar input, and most need no permit because nothing connects to your home's wiring. Check the panel's voltage and connector against the unit's limits.
Can I rely on one for a medical device?
Treat these figures as rough estimates. Check your device's actual power draw with its maker or your care provider, and keep a backup plan for longer outages.
